Van pools allow groups of people to share the ride similar to a carpool. People share the ride from home or one or more common meeting locations and travel together to a common destination or work center.

Bannock Transportation Planning Organization - RideLink Car Pool Services secured funds through the American Recovery & Re-Investment Act (stimulus) for 7-passenger and 15-passenger vans.

Schedule times for departure, pickups, dropoffs and meeting places are all arranged by the van pool members. Drivers for the van pool routes are part of the regular van pool and receive half fare. A good driving record is the criteria for becoming a van pool driver. The driver houses the vehicle at his/her home.

Monthly Fare includes:

Fuel
Insurance
Maintenance - oil changes, tires, repairs (mechanical or fender benders)
Vehicle replacement fee - this fee has been removed. (see new fare chart)

The fare is determined by calculating the average wear and tear and replacement over a 4-year period.

Fares are based upon mileage from the starting point to the ending point.
